Teachers felt overwhelmed during the sudden pivot to virtual instruction. During the height of the COVID-19 pandemic, constant changes added stress. Clear directions for setting up and using unfamiliar technology helped teachers manage. Followed by friendly, personalized tech support; emails, virtual meetings, and screencasts, teachers gained confidence. Students were successful because teachers were calm, connected, and prepared.

Fairfax County Public Schools uses a “walled garden” approach to sharing content. Links to sites and documents are not viewable outside of the school system. This walk-through is an example of just-in-time tech support and resources for teachers. I created this site, curated images and video examples, and wrote documentation. Over 60 teachers continue to use this site to make their classroom technology run smoothly, leaving more time for teaching.
