Introducing Bodhi Bryan-Roig

Join us in welcoming Bodhi Bryan-Roig to the SRSM teaching team! Bodhi studied under Stacey for several years and is accepting new students for 1:1 virtual lessons.

Hello! I’m Bodhi. I am a sophomore in college at George Mason University studying film. I also have a huge passion for music. I have been playing the violin since I was in fourth grade and the guitar since eighth grade. I want to share my passion for music with others and inspire kids to pick up and continue to play the violin, an instrument I almost instantly fell in love with.

I played baseball before I entered college. Through this, I taught training camps with kids from 8 to 12 years old for 5 years.  This teaching experience taught me some important things about working with kids. I always focus on the things they are doing right and give encouragement through positive feedback.

I’m looking forward to meeting your student and sharing my love of strings with your young musicians.

I'm an Educator

I have played violin for most of my life. At two years old, I saw Ithzak Perlman on PBS’ Sesame Street and knew violin would be a part of my life forever. I begged for lessons. At 7 years old, I took my first violin lesson and the rest is history!

My violin education began as a Suzuki student. The Suzuki Method teaches music the same way we learn language. By listening to music, I learned music! This mother-tongue approach has paid off as a violinist, fiddler, and teacher. As I continued my music education, I added theory, technique, and ensemble playing to my skills.

Another feature of my music journey has been the rapport I built with my teachers. I was lucky to experience teachers who got to know my talents and found the perfect way to encourage me to improve. When I decided to become a teacher, I followed my own teachers’ example. Each of my students is a unique individual and I work with you to meet your goals as a musician.

Today, I am a trained educator with over ten years of teaching experience. I teach private lessons and lead workshops and camps. I offer virtual instruction, self-paced online courses, and coaching. I also work as a mentor, helping strings teachers improve their practice as educators.

And a Performer.

If you ask my folks, I’ve always loved to perform. Even before I discovered violin, I would put on plays and sing for family members. My grandma was a constant audience member and her kitchen was my concert hall. From my first recital, I knew I had found my voice through the violin. Since then, I have played as a soloist and as a member of classical ensembles.

More recently, I have joined several bluegrass and Americana bands. Each one brings a unique spin on traditional styles. You can hear me playing fiddle with Split String Soup, Moose Jaw Bluegrass, and the Low Water Bridge Band. From my years of performing, I’ve developed a network of fellow musicians and styles that can provide the perfect music to make your event shine!

"One of the most important elements in teaching, conducting, and performing, all three, is listening."
